- Turning pages of a book because the film was first a novel.
- Music creating suspence, short sharps bursts of sound adding the the tension, also use of violins normally a high and unnerving sound.
- When the title of the movie appears music changes to something slightly more romantic with longer chords making the overall feel start to calm down.
- Music keeps building tension as we go through the first title scenes.
- As action starts on the film, diegetic sound plays a part as you can hear the women walking in high heels.
- Mise en scene shows a women with a yellow bag which the camera focus on a lot and is in the centre of the frame. We can tell she is leaving to go somewhere as she is at a train station waiting for the next train.

- The yellow bag stands out in the scene and brings enigma to the audiences as we don't know exactly what the contence of the bag is.
- Also all the lines in the first shot all lead towards the women confining her into a space and also the main focus of our attention.
- The next scene has use of eyeline match as the business owner was looking directly at the safe and from the shot position it was supposed to be eyeline match.
- Visual hierarchy is used as when the next character comes into shot the business owner moves who used to be at the top of the hierarchy, goes to speak to the new character and looks up towards him showing the new hierarchy of the scene.

- The dialog used represents the power of the character as he sums up everything we just found out in a few words.
- The character shows the time the film was set as he talks about women in a sexist way.
- When the characters move away from the police men we are still involved as we track them also we can still hear them which gives us an insight into the private conversation.
- We don't feel sympathy towards the man as he hired her from her work but her looks.
- When the camera pans and zooms into the character showing he may have had an idea or just thinking about the situation.
- When we cut back the handbag it is a mirror of the opening scene and we know more about what has happened but we still don't know what is actually in the handbag. Also it shows she has gone away from the station and now in a hotel as there is carpet and multiple rooms. There is also many new packages being carried by the bell boy.
- When cut to the next scene we can tell she has moved into the new room and also the time has changed as she is unpacking her stuff and also has changed clothing. The yellow handbag is still in central shot adding the anticipation of what is in it.
- We have just got confirmation the women we are following in Marnie Holland as we just seen a closeup of her handling her ID card. We can tell she is now changing her identity as we are on a closeup of her handling multiple ID cards and inserting a new card.

- They are building tension as we still haven't seen her face yet. As she firstly does reveal her face there is loud high stringed instruments.
- The colour pallet has now changed because she removed the black hair dye and now the colouring is yellow as her hair colour is actually blonde as we saw from the first shot of her.
- The uses of realism is used as they get people to obstruct the view of her from the camera making it feel like a real place.
- The sound has changed from romantic music to background noise which is ambient and diegetic sound which is coming from where the actions is coming from. This makes us understand where she now is a the diegetic sound was a train station.
- An eyeline match of the grill implying she may drop the key into it and this is reinforced by the closeup then of the key.

- Then the film cuts back to the original sound and a new scene.
- Mid shot of a man pulling up next to a hotel in old fashion car, then he stops and proceeds round the car and lets the women (Marnie) out meaning she has moved again.
- It changes to the next scene when she is inside the women who saw her seems to know her and the two shot used makes it look like they are friends but Marnie is still the most important in the scene because of visual hierarchy.
- Once again scene changes again from the hotel to a stable yard and the same car that drove Marnie to the hotel takes her to the stable yard.
- A two shot of Marnie with her horse shows the relationship well as they are close together and clearly showing emotion towards the horse which means it must be a good part of her life.
- Marnie then gallops into the distance with the horse maybe signifying her leave from the place.
- Once again it changes scene to a new place with a long shot of a shipping yard or port which is most probably an establishing shot for the next cut,
- Marnie then comes out the taxi then walks to the door and knocks to then have a little girl to answer the door then giving the question to the audience who and what is the relationship between these two people.
- This is then shortly shown by dialog between the characters and the visual hierarchy between them as we are looking down on the little girl giving her insignificance compared to Marnie.
- The final scene cuts to a close up of red flowers most probably a eyeline match, which then cuts to a reverse shot to Marnie facial reaction also in a close up which shows what she feels towards the flowers which doesn't look good.
