North Northwest

The first thing we can see in the title sequence is the diagonal lines strung fully across the screen, and as the text appears on the screen it brings focus to it. The text also alines on the diagonal line giving it a level of neatness and organisation which could be a big part of the film.

Also the text animation when entering the title scene is similar to an elevator as it either comes from the top of the screen and down pauses in the middle then continues downwards or comes from the bottom of the screen and upwards. This could give an insight maybe where the film is set or could involve.

As the title appears (North NorthWest) it starts to slowly fade into what looks like a sky scraper or some sort of office building. The camera angled used shows the windows in a similar pattern to the opening titles. Also the reflection from the windows shows yellow taxis giving us an insight into the where the film is set which is probably NewYork, so this could be seen as an establishing shot. The text continues to follow the theme of being alined along the diagonal lines of the windows. 

It then cuts a high angle shot looking into a crowd of people walking out of what we think is the sky scraper or office building. The text now seems to follow the pattern of people walking past instead of an elevator movement. The text seems to follow movement of each scene change or what is happening in each cut to a new area. Everybody in the scene seems to be coming out of the sky scraper which could mean they are leaving to go to work or leaving work to go home, but considering people are rushing it may imply they are going to work.

After having quite a lot of space to move it cuts to people funnelling into the subway which are all tightly packed together giving a claustrophobic feel, and also the high angle shot makes people look slightly more insignificant.

As the opening titles come to a close it shows snapshots of people walking around the city and some modes of transport, from the types of clothing and vehicle types and this gives us an insight into the time period the film will be set in.

The sound track to the opening titles is quite fast paced, faster than a normal heart rate which may get people excited. The use of high strung instruments makes it quite jumpy and unnerving on some level but seems to be similar to maybe scurrying which would relate to what is happening the scenes. It was probably created by an orchestra as there is many instruments such as string and brass. It also helps to finish the opening titles because it fades out signifying the film is starting the action.
